Here is a collection of discoveries from the month of September:

Joel Auterson decided to continue writing games by hand (i.e not using coding assistance or agents) since that is what gives him the most joy.
In this article the authors, Branko Milanović and Nils Gilman, argue that Artificial intelligence is coming for the meritocracy. They present some interesting numbers, acknowledge there are many unknowns and paint a few possible future outcomes. None of which sound good.
The Mystery in the Medicine Cabinet
Anonymous blogger Dynomight goes deep on Acetaminophen (also known as Paracetamol), ibuprofen, and what doctors probably want you to know about both.
I will definitely not be looking at either of these drugs in the same way going forward, and will absolutely be reading the pamphlets that come with my drugs better in the future!

IKEA released a free video game modification for Skyrim, a free roaming first person fantasy rpg game, that adds a sentient Kallax storage shelf to the game. I laughed out loud multiple times watching this trailer. Genius marketing, that wasn’t really needed.
Interview with Jake Wharton at Kotlin Conf 2026
A very good in-depth interview with Jake Wharton quite many things. Jake’s technical talks, blogs and tools have always been a fixture in my career in mobile development. After watching this interview I got the sense me and him are aligned many more subjects than I would have thought.
Double Fine’s Tim Schafer on the state of the gaming industry
It was news to me that that Double Fine had broken with Microsoft, having been bought back by some of it’s employees to become a independent studio again. This was a very interesting interview with Tim Schafer on the state of the industry. Frankly it doesn’t sound healthy.
Listen Link to heading
This is an excellently written and voice acted geopolitical audio drama about Britain, Russia and gray zone warfare. Highly recommend giving it a listen.
